Wolfforth is a rapidly growing community in western Lubbock County, connected to Lubbock on our northern and eastern boundaries. Our current population is estimated at 7,700, with a projected growth rate of 8-11% over the next few years, a claim that can only be equaled by cities in the I-35 corridor.

The City of Wolfforth is a Home Rule City, governed by a Mayor and five City Council Members. The Mayor serves a two-year term and is elected at-large. Council members also serve a two-year term but are elected at-large, by Place.

The City of Wolfforth plans to construct a new elevated storage tank as the next step in the enhancement of their water distribution system. The City Council awarded the construction bid in the amount of $4,852,000 to Landmark Structures at the regular City Council meeting held on November 4, 2024.
Wolfforth is a home rule city. It has all powers granted to home rule cities by the constitution and laws of Texas. The municipal government provided by the City Charter is known as "Council-Manager Government."
Currently, the Wolfforth Police Department is comprised of 15 full-time police officers, 1 Administrative Assistant, and a K-9. Divisions within the department are Administration, Patrol, and Criminal Investigations.
