2024年11月11日 · The only one I can identify with any conviction is Sphyrna tiburo (the Bonnethead Shark) the smallest of the genus. They have very characteristic lower anterior teeth and crushing teeth for posteriors (they have a diverse diet including lots of invertebrates).

2024年11月10日 · I found this along the Shark River in New Jersey - is it a very worn shark tooth (no enamel) or merely a suggestive rock? It even has what resembles a cusplet on one side. Also pictured are a couple other teeth fragments from the same area for comparison. Any help would be appreciated!

2016年1月8日 · Here is a Heptranchias perlo (Sharpnose Sevengill Cow Shark) jaw that I recently acquired. The jaw is 5.75” wide and 3” inches high. Fossil teeth from this shark genus are very uncommon/rare worldwide. I can’t find anywhere in the literature whether this genus/species of Hexanchidae exhibits sexual dimorphism in its tooth forms.

Any time I'm finding sharks in the Woodbine, Cretodus semiplicatus (big scary tooth with enamel wrinkling and cusplets) is a major fraction of the finds while Squalicorax (serrated triangles you have lots of), commonly known as crow sharks, are often present, but not this dominant.
