2012年1月25日 · Favorite Lard soap recipe I use lard in many of my recipes. Everyone I know likes the consistency of the bubbles of lard soap. I like hard bars so also like to use CO and/or other oils to make hard soap. My very picky Hubby just told me that he really likes this one: 20% CO, 20% Lard, 20% new Crisco (contains Palm oil) 30% OO and 10% Sunflower.

2016年10月11日 · Just for grins, I made an 80% lard, 15% coconut oil, 5% castor oil recipe -- a common high-lard recipe for bar soap -- except I made it using KOH rather than NaOH. What I learned -- The stearic and palmitic soaps from the lard don't stay permanently mixed with the rest of the diluted soap.

2020年6月21日 · An 80% lard, 20% coconut oil soap doesn't necessarily lather all that well at first, at least it has not done so for me, but it will turn into a very nice soap after a generous cure. This particular recipe was the one that taught me all about the benefits of curing soap to increase the lather and longevity and add mildness.

2022年8月5日 · Your recipe is similar to one I like -- I normally use in the realm of 80-85% lard with the rest being coconut oil. I don't use castor, but there's no reason not to -- just my preference nowadays. Lard tends to slow trace, all other things being equal. WIth the way I make soap, I'd expect a recipe like this to give me 15-20 minutes of working time.

I usually use this base recipe for my soaps and they have been wonderfully conditioning and also great for sensitive skin. 2021年2月1日 · The largest batch of soap I have made with the above is 14lbs that was sub-divided in seven different molds with different colorants, scents and designs: 2-3 layer soaps, 2-2 layer soap, 1 - 2-color ITP Swirl, 2 - 2-color Drop/Chop Stick Swirls. I mixed it in a sink tub and it took about an hour all told to make all those different kinds of soap.

2009年5月20日 · Basic Lard Recipe I am finding out what many folks are stating--that an all lard bar is slimey and doesn't last very long both in the shower and in a shelf-life. I currently use lard up to about the 50% of total oils depending on the properties I want my soap to have. I also find that using coconut, lard, olive and castor oil make a wonderful soap.

2024年11月17日 · This is fairly close to my recipe, although I use lard. A few changes I would make: Drop the castor oil % - 10% might give your soap a sticky feeling. My experience with my similar recipe is that anything more than 5% is overkill.
