2019年9月17日 · I have two daughters and one of them has been tested for it and does have the gene mutation. Unfortunately she is also very sick with Crohn’s disease and PSC which is a bad liver condition that is fatal. Since the CHEK2 mutation also can affect colon cancer, she figures she’s in trouble to begin with with the Crohn’s disease and now this.

At that time, the little bit of information known about CHEK2. 2014/15: Dr. Hansen found a suspicious area in my right breast. A lumpectomy and clips were implanted to mark the area.

2023年6月1日 · Yes I do have the CHEK2 mutation gene. The cancers I've had is skin cancer, breast cancer & thyroid cancer. Had a double mastectomy & thyroid removed. I keep up with my Dr appts & any scans or labs they want to run. Just had a lower abdomen pelvis CT done & no masses were found. Thank God!

2023年6月1日 · So many in your family have the CHEK2 mutation because it's hereditary. It's definitely common within certain families. It's no fun knowing you and your loved ones have an increased risk for multiple cancers. As for the CHEK2 mutation being rare, the official definition of rare is not what many of us would think of when we hear rare.

2019年9月17日 · My daughter has the CHEK2 mutation. She found out when she was enrolled in a study. I had breast cancer 30 years ago. There is no history of any cancer in my family. I will request a genetic study myself- I have another daughter and a son. My daughter with the CHEK2 has been followed with mammogram, ultrasound and MRI after suspicious findings.

2023年6月1日 · I have the CHEK2 gene mutation. I only learned of CHEK2 when I was diagnosed with BC in January 2023. I am currently in treatment for the BC. Interestingly, I had my thyroid removed in 1994 when I noticed it was enlarged. Went to the doctor and found out I had hyperthyroid. They told me it was pre cancer and a simple fix was to remove it.
