Analog nulling will always generate a lot of noise which confuses people as to what is being seen/heard (and fiddling with gain knobs). Digital testing reduces the impact of that but creates problems of its own: synchronization.

2021年10月4日 · XLR works only if the source has XLR outputs. For TS's case, his Denon AVR only has single end outputs. So, he cannot use XLR. Single end to XLR adapters do not work. All they do is to connect pin 3 (cold/negative) to ground. So, essentially you are just having 1 signal and 2 ground wires in an XLR cable. There is no noise rejection capability.

2019年10月18日 · Mogami W2549 is very good cable as is Mogami W2534 quad microphone cable. I think the W2549 has less capacitance and the general consensus is that it sounds very neutral and less rolled off than the W2534 which has heavier shielding. I make my own with Neutrik XLR plugs.

Recommended inexpensive XLR or TRS cables?
2020年3月16日 · XLRs are a little more robust. A TRS-TRS cable is more versatile. If had the option to go XLR-TRS or TRS-TRS, I would get TRS-TRS for a more versatile cable. If I could go XLR-XLR, I would pick that over the TRS-TRS. A TRS-XLR cable is directional, so not very versatile at all. I wouldn't use that unless it was the only option for my connections.
