Jul 3, 2013 · Wrong bios. That must be for the OLD Microsoft Surface, what is now known as the "PixelSense" I believe. If you look at the "Date Published" in your link it says "11/16/2009" which is obviously way too early for the Surface Pro. Feb 26, 2018 · As explained in the link above, to boot the Surface Pro to a USB, press & hold Vol Down; press power once; after logo displays, release Vol. USB continues to flash as it boots up. I created the recovery USB from a Surface Pro 3 (my work PC) unchecking the save-system-files.

But that same firmware that checks the battery needs a certain level itself to work properly. You may be in-between realms. A design flaw, most agree, but rare.
