2021年9月22日 · After hours of working with my Surface Dock 2 and my Surface Pro 7+ here is the deal. I have NO other devices connected via USB in the Surface Dock 2 or the Surface Pro 7+. I plug a USB-C to HDMI cable into my Surface Pro 7+ with the Dock 2 plugged into the Surface Pro 7+ for power everything works just fine.

Now, when I connect my external monitor directly to Surface Pro 8 (with USB-C to USB-C cable), I can get 4k@144Hz on the external monitor.
