2021年11月1日 · I replaced my Xfinity modem/ router one year ago ( Xfinity equipment ). I have a lightbulb that can be controlled with an app, and it needs to pair with 2.4Ghz. Since I replaced the modem/ routerI no longer see the option to choose 2.4Ghz.

2023年1月18日 · I hooked up my Asus router after the Xfinity gateway and had no issues with connectivity. Speeds remained just about the same. Using a VPN speeds dropped about 50% so getting around 225 down and 12 up using a VPN. I tried 3 different VPN services and. speeds didn't vary by more than 15 down between them.

2021年1月5日 · Only an issue if your gateway/modem and your router have wifi and then only minimally. The potential issue is 2.5/5ghz interference between the two.

2022年6月22日 · Now you can't use the setup app on a phone to configure your new gizmo. Most consumer WiFi routers and combo cable modem WiFi routers support a guest network. Using 2 consumer routers results in a double NAT situation which can be kind of annoying but generally does work. It'll probably also break IPv6 behind the second one.

2023年1月6日 · If it picks the Xfinity WiFi in gateway mode instead of your Nest, you can "forget" the Xfinity WiFi connection. Then it won't try to connect to that. How you have it setup now is called a double nat. You can do that, but there's some network oddities you will see. Your gateway gets the external facing IP address in "gateway mode".
