Sep 9, 2004 · Actually, sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) acts as a buffer. It will soak up a LOT of either acid or alkali before things swing too far from neutral; but is so mild that it won't swing things much itself. In fact, you can buy it in bulk from feed stores under names such as "digestive buffer" or variants on that theme.

Sep 13, 2006 · We buy 12 lb. bags of Baking soda at Costco for $4.50. i like the fact that they are waterproof packages and manageable sizes. Of course, I'll be in trouble when some druggie figures out how to make some drug using baking soda...you should see the looks I get at Costco when I buy 2-3 bags at once! Camille

Jul 6, 2008 · This is a thread I will never forget. Please don't make the same mistake I made and follow this recipe. The posted recipe is WRONG and DEADLY! Dr. Bristol's recipe calls for 2 TEASPOONS, not TABLESPOONS of baking soda, and 1 TEASPOON, not 1 TABLESPOON of lite salt. amd it's 14 oz of beef consomme.

Jul 9, 2013 · Answer to your question is yes. Any basic pH amendment (baking soda, limestone, calcium, gypsum, etc.) will reduce odor; as it is caused by Nitrogen compounds which are acidic pH.

May 23, 2006 · By the way, the rough finish on the bottom of the shower can be cleaned much easier by putting quite a bit of baking soda or Bon Ami on it, mix it with a little water and, with a brush, scrub, scrub, scrub... wrinse, scrub again and repeat until the nasties are gone. Best of luck on this one. It's going to be, at the least, a mild pain.

Hope this helps ! 2 T. baking soda 1/2 cup mineral oil (or vegetable). 1/2 cup water Pepto Bismal 1/4 cup (or based in weight) If they are scouring you can leave out the oil after a dose.
