Fred Kerley, an American sprinter and Olympic medalist, was detained by police in Miami Beach after allegedly resisting arrest. Officers used a taser because the athlete did not comply with their orders.

San Antonio native and U.S. Olympic sprinter Fred Kerley was tased and taken into custody by Miami Beach police late Thursday night.

It is said that Kerley was concerned about his vehicle, which was parked nearby. Local police said that his demeanour became 'increasingly aggressive' and that he refused to leave the area despite being asked to do so.
