The Met Office has revealed parts of the UK could get "several centimetres" of snow this weekend. Yellow weather warnings are currently in place across parts of the UK as strong winds batter the UK.
Scotland, Northern Ireland, and parts of northern England, including Newcastle and Manchester, are forecast to experience snow depths of 1-3cm, while isolated areas could see up to 5cm.
In its long range forecast, from Christmas eve to January 7, the Met Office confirmed that some sleet and snow was “likely at times”, mainly affecting high ground in northern parts of the UK.
